These take place in your home on an individual basis, although you are free to invite your partner, family member/s or friend/s.

Cost: from £25 for a 2 hour session. You may have as many sessions as you feel you need. I recommend at least one of those sessions to be before you are 36 weeks pregnant.

Birth preparation sessions

Ideal if:

-you want to understand more about the birthing process

-you have loads of questions but feel uncomfortable asking them in group situations

-you want to know what your options are, what all your choices really mean or feel overwhelmed by all the choices you have

-you wish to discuss any fears or anxieties in an unhurried, relaxed and supportive environment.

-you would like one-to-one discussion and information to help build your birthplan

Birthplan advice

We can go through your labour and birth options step-by-step to help you decide what is most appropriate for you. Helpful to understand the pros and cons of each option you have.  We can cover anything you feel you need to including:

-what to expect at different stages of labour

-if you go to hospital/birth centre, when to go, what to take, what to expect there etc 

- options for place of birth

-how to deal with concerns you have

-who to have present at the birth

-induction of labour information

-pain relief options

-baby monitoring options

-medical interventions-what, when, why, how, who

-labour and birth positions

-third stage (the placenta) information and options

-immediate baby care.
